Knitted hat:
A simple and quick knit hat, perfect for kids and adults. The hat has a perfect fit and you can knit it extra- baggy for an even cooler look. You might as well work the hat shorter and wear it without the folded hem.
Sizes: 2 (4-6) 8-10 years (women) men
Gauge: 22 sts = 10 cm
Yarn and amount: Sandnes Merinoull (50) 100 (100) 100 (100) g
Recommended needles: 3, 5 mm (40 cm)
Supplies: Stitch marker for marking the round’s beginning
Instruction
Cast on 88 (96) 100 (104) 112 sts loosely on needle 3,5. Place a stitch marker (stm) at the round’s beginning. Knit rib as follows: k2, p2. Continue knitting in rib, until the hat measures 22 (24) 26 (26) 29 cm. Continue working the decreases as explained below.
If you don’t knit with a long circular needle with magic loop method, change to double pointed needles.
*If you prefer to wear the hat without the folded hem, work the hat 4 cm shorter.
If you prefer a baggier look or a wider hem, add a couple of cm.
Decreases at hat’s top:
1st round: k2, p2 tog
2nd round: k2, p1
3rd round: k2, p1
4th round: k2tog, p1
5th round: k1, p1
6th round: k1, p1
7th round: k2tog
Cut the yarn, pull it through the remaining sts and tighten properly on hat’s ws. Weave in all ends.
Knitted neck warmer:
Size: 2 -4 (4-8) years (grown ups)
Gauge: 22 sts = 10 cm
Yarn and amount: Sandnes Merinoull eller Drops Merino Extra Fine (50) 50 (100)g
Recommended needles: 3,5 mm
Instruction
Cast on 116 (124) 132 sts loosely on needle 3,5. Place a stitch marker (stm) at the round’s beginning. Knit rib as follows: k2, p2. Continue knitting in rib, until the neck warmer measures 20 (24) 28 cm.
Cut the yarn and weave in all ends.
